Short version: this was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had in my life. Long version… I took my girlfriend here for a very special weekend. The staff from the moment we arrived were the most friendly and welcoming I’ve met at any hotel I’ve stayed in. In just a weekend I felt like the staff at Hotel de la Ville became my extended family! I came to Rome with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend. When the staff showed us to our room (I mean suite!) that they had generously upgraded us to, I was speechless. We were shown to the Roma Suite by Francesca, and our jaws dropped. The suite was palatial, and the outdoor terrace had a panoramic view of Rome. It was utterly magical. So this hotel became the place I got down on one knee to propose to my girlfriend. The staff throughout the weekend never failed to make our weekend incredible. From the bottle of Prosecco to congratulate us, to the applause from the reception staff when we told them. Now, perhaps not everyone going to this hotel will be getting engaged every weekend… regardless, there are so many wonderful aspects of Hotel de la Ville. The breakfast is impeccable, with a huge range of options as well as a professional kitchen willing to cook a variety of delicacies on the menu. Again the staff are incredibly attentive and welcoming. We also managed to spend some time in the spa. The spa was so relaxing, and a delight to escape to from the hustle and bustle of Rome life. The spa was both warming and soothing but also modern and fresh. The interior design and details of the spa were utterly perfect. Perhaps our favourite spot in the hotel, though, aside from our suite(!) was the cocktail bar. Here, the staff are absolutely dedicated to their craft. I had the best negroni I’ve ever had (the Cockney, on their menu!), and then we came back the following evening to sample their Valentine’s special that they were working on: the love potion. I’ve never met people with such passion for making cocktails. It was infectious, and inspiring. As you might expect, we didn’t want our magical weekend to end. This hotel, and the staff, will forever be in my heart, for making me the happiest man in the world.

I wanted to leave a review to ensure the team at this hotel received credit for a great job. We had an issue with the tub being broken in the room and service upon arrival that made my mother pretty upset. Agatha and Frederico were quick to address the issues and went above and beyond to make us happy, comfortable and make up for the problems. The rest of our stay was perfect and amazing. Thank you to Agatha and Frederico and the entire team at this hotel for an amazing stay.

Outstanding stay in Rome My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two nights. Our stay was truely exceptional just from the begining. To start we had a great bar experience at Cielo on the rooftop, then we enjoyed our exquisite dinner on the rooftop terrace of the hotel, and two wonderful breakfast in that beautiful courtyard. We would like to express our gratitude for this amazing experience during our stay and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Rome.
